Hello Jonathon,
After hearing you nail the Beethonven 4th piano concerto the other night in LA, all I can say is WOW. After that concert I promptly went out and bought the 2 cds the LA Phil Gift Shop had of you playing Beethoven Sonatas. The recording of you playing Davidsbunder and Beethoven's F minor sonota were mind blowing to say the least! I'll be checking to see if you've recorded the Beethoven Concertos and any others on amazon. By the way, did you enjoy the Disney Hall? Is it good for a piano soloist? Or are there better halls out there acoustically? Thanks again for a great performance last Sat, Dec 8th.

Greetings Jonathan,
I saw your performance tonight, for Professor Fleisher, of the Beethoven's "Choral Fantasy" from the Kennedy Center's Honors and wanted to say how inspiring your performance was. I hope you will be coming to New York in the near future.

Best wishes,
-David

Jonathan - I heard you play at the Metropolitan Museum in New York last year. The whole recital was outstanding, but what I cannot get out of my mind is how you played Mozart. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Jonathan, record some Mozart sonatas. I consider his piano music to be some of the most difficult to play and "get it right." You made me feel like you have a natural understanding of his language - you tapped into the drama behind all the notes like you were speaking Mozart. Everything made sense. It was truly extraordinary and I will never forget it. This blog entry just confirms how deeply you understand his music and why you play it so extraordinarily well. Thank you for that unforgettable experience.

On a totally unrelated topic - Jonathan - how the heck do you practice the left hand of Davidsbundlertanze Book I, Nr. 6 to get it so fast and clean!!!! Do you use Schumann's rather treacherous (for me) fingering? Do you pay attention to separating between each two note slur and the staccato note following? (I don't know how that's possible at Schumann's metronome marking!)

Mozart Sonatas, Jonathan - I'll be keeping an eye out!
